The booking checklist

Compare the whole trip. Then choose your flight.

A low headline fare is only one part of the decision. Compare the same dates, airports, baggage, and ticket conditions before choosing a booking provider.

How to compare flight prices

  1. Start with your airports. Use three-letter airport codes, such as JFK for New York John F. Kennedy or LHR for London Heathrow. Nearby airports can mean different transfer costs and journey times.
  2. Check your dates. Enter a departure date and, for a return trip, a return date. If your plans allow it, repeat the search with nearby dates and compare the full trip cost.
  3. Compare like for like. Check whether each result is one-way or includes a return. Confirm the number of travelers and travel class on the booking site.
  4. Review the final offer. Follow the booking link, confirm availability and total price, then review the provider’s terms before paying.

What to check beyond the ticket price

Flight comparison checklist
BaggageCheck cabin and checked-bag allowances, weight limits, and the cost of any extras you need.
StopsReview connection times, airport changes, and whether the itinerary uses separate tickets.
AirportsAdd the time and cost of getting to and from the airport. Check the actual airport code rather than only the city name.
TimingCheck local arrival dates, overnight connections, and whether a late arrival changes your accommodation needs.
Ticket conditionsRead change, cancellation, refund, and seat-selection terms on the final booking page.

Are the displayed fares guaranteed?

No. ForgeMesh shows fare observations supplied by a travel search partner, and results may be cached. They are a starting point for comparison, not reserved tickets or guaranteed quotes. The booking provider confirms the current price and availability.
